12.17  An aircraft cruising VFR in level flight above 3,000 feet AGL on a track of 290ºM shall be flown at an

(1) even thousand foot altitude.
(2) even thousand plus 500 foot altitude.
(3) odd thousand foot altitude.
(4) odd thousand plus 500 foot altitude.
